The card was well packaged, and came in the ubiquitous clamshell protective housing. It plugged in and worked immediately, which is all great.The reasons I deducted a star was that the card reports a capacity of only 14.9gb. I know there can be a discrepancy between the card “size” and the actual, but that’s a bit of a wider gap than I’ve seen with other cards, and could indicate something wrong with the card.I was able to get only 4.2mB/s transfer to the chip on mine (a 1.28gb transfer in 304 seconds). The good news (kind of…) is that the transfer FROM the chip to my PC was considerably quicker – the same 1.28gb transfer took only 52 seconds, for an average of 24.6mB/S. That’s not nearly as quick as the claim, but it could also have more to do with the limitations of my PC and card reader than the chip. And that’s a LOT quicker than necessary to do what I need it to do, which is hold a huge amount of music and audio books for my 2011 car’s chip reader function. The speed the files load to the chip makes no difference, and I’m sure that the download speed from the chip is many, many times faster than necessary for the highest definition audio files I’ll ever “stream”. The speed listed on the chip is actually listed as “60MB/s*” – not sure what the “*” signifies, as there’s nothing on the packaging, and no “instruction sheet”.If you are going to use this to capture images with a high-speed camera that actually needs something close to the claimed 60MB/s, it might not be the best option for you. But for non-critical uses like mine, it looks to be an economical and adequate option.
